Project Summary:
The AEQUALIS4TCLF project aims to address the skills gap in the textile, clothing, leather, and footwear (TCLF) sectors at the European Union level. The project involves relevant stakeholders, including industry representatives, chambers of commerce, employer associations, higher education (HE), and vocational education and training (VET) institutions from nine European countries: Belgium, France, Czech Republic, Croatia, Lithuania, Finland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Serbia.
The project has two main objectives. The first objective is to expand the reach of previous projects, METASKILLS4TCLF and S4STCLF Blueprint, from 11 to 18 countries, uniting Europe in the education and reskilling of the workforce in the TCLF sector. Both projects are coordinated by Euratex. The S4STCLF project, implemented from 2018 to 2022, focused on enhancing and modernizing the TCLF sector's competitiveness, while the METASKILLS4TCLF project is still ongoing (2023-2027) and represents a continuation of the S4STCLF project, further modernizing vocational curricula to meet market needs. This second project also includes higher education, additional institutions from other countries and sectors. AEQUALIS4TCLF is a continuation of these projects, enabling the TCLF industry to better prepare for the future and operate on the principles of a sustainable and circular economy.
The second objective of the AEQUALIS4TCLF project is to address the skills gap in the TCLF industry by promoting partnerships, identifying specific skills needs, and developing new curricula for a more sustainable and digital industry. The project also supports social inclusion and security through the implementation of integrated workshops and the creation of new and existing guidelines aimed at addressing social exclusion and promoting inclusion.
By achieving these goals, the project will position the partner countries as leaders in sustainable and innovative production models, significantly contributing to the TCLF sector at the EU level.
